Aloe Vera is the one!
Aloe vera is famous for its great effects on human health – but pet care and animal care can also be done by aloe vera.
Most common pets or farm animals can be treated with aloe vera, and it can even help more unusual creatures such as reptiles.
Aloe Vera’s human medicinal properties have been well established and widely acknowledged for thousands of years. Nowadays these properties are being utilized in animal health care.
The plant has also been used for centuries to treat animals – though it was only relatively recently, in the 1800s, that it became a widespread animal treatment.
Many studies have shown it can effectively help animals’ skin or
stomach problems; can soothe digestive conditions such as stomach ulcers; and can boost the immune system.
One vets’ college even found Aloe Vera became such an important part of its day-to-day work that it depicted the plant in its coat of arms.
Owners of animals can use aloe vera as a complementary medicinal herb to soothe a condition diagnosed earlier, or as a pet care product while waiting to see a vet.
Aloe vera products can be added to animals’ food or water, or fed directly by mouth, or applied as a ‘topical preparation’ to skin.
It must be filleted and cold-stabilised so that it contains mainly parenchymatous gel from the plant’s inner leaf.
Animal care products made with a high percentage of stabilised aloe vera gel, which is able to provide moisturising action which will be mild and safe and will provide all benefits of aloe.
Vet David Urch runs a mixed farm and breeds competition horses. He is a keen advocate of aloe vera and has long been documenting its benefits. He started treating animals with aloe vera in 1996, and wrote a book on the subject in 1999. He gives lectures around the world, enthusing about the plant’s benefits.
However, he advises that Aloe Vera or other complementary medicines, should not be used as a replacement for traditional medicines, but should be integrated alongside mainstream treatments.
So it is very sensible to use Aloe Vera as animal care or pet care products in order to maintain animal health or pet health.
